Having been involved in the Hillsborough County Democratic Party since 2005, I have long worked for positive change in Hillsborough County. My family supports me as it is my time to seek elected office. I want to bring fresh ideas, positive solutions and contributions to the State of Florida House of Representatives, District 61. The district covers the inner core of Tampa where I was born and raised. I still live in the district as a stakeholder in the district along with many of you.

My platform includes the following:

  • Providing an affordable education for all, while seeking lower tuition costs and reducing student loans debts. I also plan to expand early childhood education.

  • Creating good sustainable jobs with a living wage, while expanding and growing small business opportunities, targeting smart redevelopment incentives and investments.

  • Providing residents with safe, decent, affordable, and energy efficient housing for a fair price. This would include comprehensive housing counseling and home ownership preparation, with emphasis on developing foreclosure prevention programs and financial literacy.

  • Providing quality and affordable healthcare and including better coverage for all. This would include a decrease in the cost of healthcare.

I believe that I can forge a trust relationship with each of the above involved entities and force them to come to the table with innovative ideas that don’t always call for additional state or federal funding, but instead use the resources within their control, to make some positive progress. Business can do it, why can’t our local government do more with less? I know the resources are there for success, so we must be creative and steadfast in finding solutions.

I believe there are solutions to be found for opportunities which entails more successes for our district for all areas of my platform. I would like to work towards the goals that many residents in the district are needing following State Representative Betty Reed.

For this campaign to be successful, it will require a strong grassroots organization. I am actively securing other methods of promotion and advertising my candidacy. This is why it is important to have you as a part of my team; I cannot do it alone. That’s why I’m turning to the people who know me best, and inviting them to get involved in my campaign and to help make a difference.
